Acqua Di Gio Eau de Parfum wordt vaak geprezen om zijn frisse, aquatische en licht minerale geur die bijna iedereen prettig vindt. Het is een veilige keuze en erg veelzijdig: veel dragers gebruiken hem als dagelijkse geur voor werk, vrije tijd en vooral in de warmere maanden. De prestaties zijn meestal goed maar niet extreem; de meeste bronnen melden ongeveer vijf tot zeven uur draagduur met een gematigde projectie, wat voor de meeste situaties voldoende is maar niet voor wie een echte krachtpatser zoekt. De flacon is navulbaar en er wordt veel nadruk gelegd op natuurlijke oliën en een duurzamere presentatie, wat voor sommige kopers een pluspunt is. Tegelijkertijd geven kenners vaak aan dat deze EDP sterk lijkt op eerdere flankers zoals Profondo en Profumo en daardoor weinig origineel aanvoelt. Ook wordt hij regelmatig gezien als een minder indrukwekkende opvolger van de inmiddels verdwenen Profumo, vooral qua diepte en karakter. Voor wie de klassieke Acqua Di Gio wil met iets betere prestaties en een modernere twist, is dit echter een zeer veilige en toegankelijke keuze.

The first spray immediately captivated me. Here, they have strayed far from the AdG DNA. Little freshness, more synthetic sweetness. It starts with a delicious green, synthetic apple, and I perceive the citrus only minimally in the background. What’s interesting is the heart note where the molecule Yodanol appears. This is quite hard to put into words. It gives the fragrance a certain shape. I would describe it as full, round, soft, and ozonic. Alongside it is a pleasant sage note. This gives the fragrance a certain elegance, while the sweetness of the green apple remains present throughout. Longevity and sillage are decent, but one shouldn't be misled by the "intense" in the name. Wearable year-round. I really like it and wear it often. A nice, solid daily fragrance but not the best Acqua di Gio.
