First impression is this is fruity and fresh, I think it's the lavender that stands out but it's not the type I prefer, Caron Pour un Homme is my favourite lavender. Another somewhat generic opening, inoffensive. This reminds me of so many designer fragrances, fresh leaning towards a bit of sweetness, I think I pick up a very mild violet somewhere in the middle. Perfectly harmless, if you like this sort of thing it's pleasant enough. After a few hours it wears quite close to the skin. I don't get the listed basenotes except for perhaps a very mild musky, soapy note.

First, I would like to thank one of the top perfumers, namely Thadl68, for the sample. The company Ajmal was founded in the 1950s in India and is now based in Dubai, UAE. The family-run business, although it has now grown to a large scale, is now in its third generation. Those who have the impression that this perfume is truly Arabic/oriental will likely be disappointed. Carbon smells good, but it is quite far from a typical oriental perfume - it is not sweet, it is not very Oud-heavy, but initially fresh and citrusy. The woods only reveal themselves later, and the patchouli and musk remain elegantly restrained. Therefore, I recommend Carbon to those who have only used Western perfumes so far and want to make a gentle entry into the oriental world. This perfume is for me an oriental-tinged Cool Water, well made, but not typically oriental like other Ajmal perfumes.
