Jour d'Hermès Absolu is een verbeterde versie van het origineel met aanzienlijk betere duurzaamheid—tot 24 uur met goede sillage. Jean-Claude Ellena heeft de fruitnoot (perzik en abrikoos) voller en vlezig gemaakt, wat de compositie warmer en meer eetbaar maakt. De geur opent met frisse citrus- en fruitnoten, evolueert naar een delicate bloemenbouquet (hyacint, lelietje-van-dalen, gardenia, jasmijn) en eindigt met een zachte muskachtige base. De navulbare fles maakt het economischer en milieuvriendelijker. Dit is ideaal voor wie de originele Jour d'Hermès mooi vond maar meer duurzaamheid nodig had, of voor wie verfijnde, lumineuze geuren waardeert met betere prestaties.

This EDP opens with an uplifting citrus that lasts for about an hour. The heart seems to be composed of gardenia with elements of water notes and some non-descript green notes that seem to wash each other out. I found this fragrance to be mostly composed of sweet pea powder musk. I do understand and appreciate the concept of a quiet scent and how fragrance does not need to shout to make a statement. However, I found this EDP to be very thin, transparent with a weak tenacity to it. Its very lacking in something but I can't identify what it is. What a shame. I often enjoy Hermes fragrances but this isn't one of them.

I love this perfume. The sample size seem to be a little bit more citrusy. I like the bergamot. I still love it.

Warning. The one I received was not authentic. It was a lot of alcohol and the ghost of the grassy bottom note. It obviously was cut with a lot of alcohol. I wouldn't believe that this was eau de toilette, much less parfum. I own Jardin sur le Toit, soI know what an Hermes fragrance should be: complex, full, and long lasting. Forget this one.
