Panasonic UHD Player DPUB9000EG1

Having belatedly upgraded to a 4k TV I needed to upgrade my BluRay player and bought the DPUB9000 as the DPUB820 was out of stock everywhere. So far I've mostly played my existing 1080p BluRay discs using my Bravia A95L TV to upscale to 4K, but to my eyes the picture is almost indistinguishable from using a 4K source. Sound is processed by my Anthem AVM90, and is again impeccable. Loading times, etc are all very quick, and the player was easy to set up after an in store tutorial from Richer Sounds. The only mild negative is that the upscaling of DVDs by either the DPUB9000 or my Bravia A95L can only go so far in terms of picture quality on a 77" TV screen - there's just too much pixelation - but this just reveals the problems of DVDs. The DPUB9000 is probably too good a player for my use case, but performance so far has been as I'd hoped for, and the rock solid build quality means it will last me many years (I hope). Overall, I'm veey happy with this purchase.

I am all Sony on my home cinema but Blu ray player struggling with new 4k discs purchased a Panasonic 9000 and it has blown my system out of the park sound better on Sony Bravia Quad with SW5 subwoofer picture quality improved on Sony Bravia 8 2

It is really heavy. I bet is made to last. Things that are heavy are usually made better. It was expensive so it better last me a long time. I haven't really used it a lot. So, I can't say too much about it. Other than it better last.
