De Nikon Coolpix P1100 is ideaal voor wie verre onderwerpen wil vastleggen dankzij de indrukwekkende 125x zoom. De camera levert mooie beelden en 4K-video's bij goed licht, en het verstelbare scherm maakt creatieve hoeken mogelijk. Wel is er duidelijk kwaliteitsverlies bij weinig licht en hoge ISO, en bij maximale zoom is de autofocus traag en zijn beelden minder scherp. Het formaat en gewicht zijn fors, wat minder handig is voor reizen. De bediening is eenvoudig, maar het zoomen duurt relatief lang. Voor natuurfotografie en vogels is dit een uitstekende keuze als je met deze beperkingen kunt leven.

Offering an incredible, some may say ridiculous, 125x optical zoom means that neither this camera nor its price tag is small. In fact, the P1100 is much heftier than online images indicate. While image stabilisation is impressive enough that a judder-free view is visible through the eyepiece even at maximum 3000mm equivalent – and surprisingly sharp images can be captured that we wouldn’t have a hope in hell of achieving without – this isn’t really a camera for prolonged handheld use. Fortunately, a tripod screw thread is provided at the base for additional support. While weight and bulk, along with a tiny sensor more commonly found in a snapshot camera, means the P1100 won’t be for everyone, this is Nikon reclaiming and reinvigorating the super zoom/ bridge camera market.

Amazing all in one camera at a great price. No need for all the built lenses to change the Nikon P1100 takes all those issues away

Only had the camera for a few days. Bought it to take on a birdwatching trip, the cost of a lens to match this cameras range was too great. It does have it's limitations but without spending multiple thousands I don't think you can better it.
