Benro Swing / Gimbal Head w/ Quick Release Plate GH2N

I already have a Benro tripod and geared head, so I knew this would be a quality product at a realistic price. Sure, you can pay a lot more but I can't imagine it being any better. Taking the parts out of the box, you will feel and know this is a quality product. Assembling the Gimple was easy enough and it has an Arca-Swiss plate that come with extra screws to suit your set up. It is important that you get your camera and lens balanced properly, so the camera will stay in position, up, down etc, when you let go. Look on YouTube for guidance. This Gimble is a joy to use. So smooth and there are two large, easy to use, knobs to lock it in position. There is a 'Best uses' box above which made me consider when you would use this. I think more than you realise. No reason why not a lot of genres. Maybe not table top or Macro, where a geared head would be better.

I mount my Nike Z 180-600 on this. It works well, smooth as butter under load, balances perfectly with supplied plate. There is no play either locked or unlocked. Small gap between tilt lock and arm could collect dirt and needs to be kept clean. Overall very happy with purchase.

I use this gimbal when set up in a fixed location for a variety of wildlife scenarios. It is used to support a full frame dslr with 600mm f4 lens and occasional 1.4x extender. It makes life a lot easier and it's a joy to use.

Paired the mount with my Benro MAD49A monopod, it enabled me to take full control of my 150-600mm zoom lens. Easy to adjust az/alt and quick lock/ unlock

I use a ball head for most of my photography which I thought worked well. However the gimbal has made it so much easier to keep fast moving animals (especially birds) in frame. It is also easier to set the camera up to preframe and prefocus a shot and then capture the bird as it flies into frame.
