I love METZ flashes. This one is simple to use, inexpensive and will provide you with enough flash for most photographic needs. If you are looking for an ultimate flash, this one is not it. However, if you are looking for great all around flash that won't break your wallet and great to pack for your trips, this is the one to get. I have been using METZ flashes for over 20 years.

After replacing all my pro equipment I toned down to just hobby status and this flash fits the bill. It works great with my Sony camera, easy to use and helps take great pictures.

I haven't used it so much yet because I'm busy at work right now. I've tried with my pana G3 already and it worked perfectly and I also tested with my OM10 and it also worked although. I need to use it more often so that I will be familiarized more with its features.

Having owned every flash available for the Sony, this is a solid entry. My minor annoyances are the power light and indicator light are not bright enough to see in most sunlight, the lock is a little wonky, and doesn't have quite as many controls as I am used to. I like where the flash sits relative to the lens, the power of the flash, and the solid overall build.

I had a Metz 64 AF-1 and one of the wires in the shoe got bent. It would cost over $300 to fix so I tossed it and ordered this less expensive replacement. I like it better. Even though it has a lower guide number it still serves my purpose. If I need more light all I do is bump up my ISO. What I like about it, it turns off and on faster. With the 64, you have to hold down the button much longer. When you're under time constraints it's a pain. It's also easier to change the power as well. I use it in manual mode only.
