Fit? Awesome. Traction? Great. Comfort? Excellent. Support? Very good. Waterproof? Not at all. Despite several NikWax applications, prior to use, these boots proved to be a huge disappointment. Simply walking through a heave dew left my feet swimming. The sock above the boot is dry, but everything in the boot is soaked. I love the Hoka brand and really wanted this boot to work. This is a show stopper for me.

These are super comfy, but they were out of the dirt-colored version so I had to get white. Hey, HOKA, why on our green and brown earth would anyone make a white-colored hiking boot? It makes no sense whatsoever, and many of us ladies like our dirt trails. I suppose someone might be wearing a hiking boot doing something other than hiking, I guess. But hey, another marketing idea for ya: "High top walking boots," and make the "hiking boots" dark colors, please. Otherwise thumbs up!

Used the first time for long class 3-4 ridge climb with long hiking decent and uphills and it worked perfectly.

The HOKA Kaha 3 GTX were instantly comfortable out of the box. No rubbing at the ankle and my heel felt solid. I could use a little more toe room, but with some lace adjustment, they felt comfortable with no rubbing on the side of the toe. Mornings have been chilly lately and whereas my toes would have normally been cold, my feet felt like they were cozy under a blanket! These are surprisingly breathable and while out of the box they felt on the heavy side, after a long hike up and down hills, my knees didn't feel it, and I felt like I still had a lot of bounce left in my step. Out on wet rocks where I'd be nervous with my old boots, these had a surprising grip. I'm interested to see how the outer material holds up, but I'm sure these will not remain so clean for long! This is my first experience with HOKA and these are definitely my new go to boot. Warm, breathable, and far from clunky!

Comfortable boot that’s a nice cross between shoe and sturdy boot. It strikes a balance—much more cushion and comfort than normal hiking boot, but a little less grip that I like on the trail. I found the boot to run about 1/2 size small, so you may want to order up a size. I didn’t get to test how waterproof the boot was (dry summer), but from experiments I the sink it seems adequate. Overall a decent option if you want to pamper those feet…or if you are at the age where you need a little more spring in your step.
