Great beginner backpack to get started into weekend and overnight backpacking. It bit on the heavier side, however the comfortless makes up for it.

Very comfortable and well designed pack. Perfect size for day and weekend excursions into the great outdoors.

My experience at REI was a pleasure and seamless from top-to-bottom. I selected the pack that I wanted, had it adjusted, weighted, and everything was just perfect except the color. No Problem! The salesperson ordered the pack in my preferred color on Saturday and it showed-up at my door, 90 miles from the Jacksonville store, on Tuesday afternoon... Now I just need to fill it up and hit the trail.

Bought this for my 14yo son and it was perfect. I have the Osprey atmos ag 65 and so it was great to have a similar style for him that I already knew how to use and pack. He was very pleased with it on our first 3 day/2 night trip. The pack held up great! I love the hiking pole holders and the large capacity brain. Lots of strap to attach items to the outside. Highly recommend!

The AG system is still solid. The hip pads have increased in width making them less comfortable than the previous versions of the Atmos AG 50. I prefered the previous design where the brain was removable and had a cover flap for use when the top "brain" was removed. The side access zippers are excellent. Really delivers great access while not having to remove items just to get to an irem at the bottom of the pack. The addition of a rain fly under the lower compartment was an excellent add. The worst part of the design is that the lower compression straps go over the side pockets. This design causes one to have a lose pack or it is too tight to put water bottles in. Is those straps were re rounted behind or through the side pockets this would be an excellent backpack. With the current design it is a good pack.with some slight modificationit would be excellent.
