De Samsung HW-Q800D biedt een indrukwekkende Dolby Atmos-ervaring met krachtige bas en heldere dialogen, ideaal voor films en muziek. De connectiviteit is uitgebreid, met HDMI eARC, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi, AirPlay en Chromecast. Q-Symphony zorgt voor extra ruimtelijk geluid bij Samsung TV's. Nadelen zijn het ontbreken van HDMI 2.1 4K@120Hz, scherpe hoge tonen bij hard volume, en dat echte surround alleen mogelijk is met extra speakers. Ook zijn de verbeteringen ten opzichte van de HW-Q800C minimaal en het ontwerp is vrij groot. Overweeg deze soundbar als je vooral waarde hecht aan bioscoopgeluid en veelzijdige aansluitingen.

I had an old Yamaha receiver set up with a Yamaha sub woofer and centre speaker, and some big old B&W speakers which I was happy with but recently the receiver started misbehaving. A mate warned me that I would be disappointed if I bought a soundbar and to be honest, initially I was. I tweaked the settings but still felt it was a little underwhelming watching free to air TV. I'm very impressed with the sound quality when watching a streaming service however. It's a different story altogether and really comes alive. Overall I'm very impressed with this unit. The sub woofer is bigger than I was expecting however

Sound quality is excellent. Don't expect proper surround sound as the soundbar lacks satellite speakers, but in every other way it's a huge upgrade to the built in TV speakers. The voices especially come through so much clearer with this soundbar. I used to have to turn the volume up on my TV during dialogue just so I could make out the words, and then turn it back down during action sequences, but I no longer have to do that. Great service from HN as well.

The Samsung HW-Q800D is, on paper, all but indistinguishable from the model it replaces. In the flesh, it’s a good-looking and well-made system. In action, it’s a great spatial audio performer that’s undermined somewhat by its rather vague and flimsy treble reproduction. But, in general, this is the perfect soundbar for almost any TV – especially if you have a modern Samsung set.

Mijn eerste soundbar, voorheen altijd losse speakers gehad. Mijn verwachtingen waren zodoende niet zo hoog. Voor 400 euro heb ik deze gekocht en voor dat geld is het prima te noemen. Aansluiten was letterlijk 2 minuutjes werk. Muziek klinkt beter dan ik verwacht had. Dialogen klinken helder dankzij een dedicated center speaker. Absoluut krachtig genoeg voor een woonkamer van 30m2. De subwoofer staat out of the box wel heel hard, maar alles is los in te stellen: Toonregeling, kanalen en sub. Er zit een Dolby Atmos logo op, maar daar lijk ik weinig van te merken. LET OP MET FIRMWARE UPDATES!! Ten tijde van schrijven (18-3-2025) is er een firmware update 1020 die aardig wat Q series soundbars schijnt te slopen! Zodoende heb ik hem niet aan het Wifi gehangen, aangezien alles naar behoren lijkt te werken.
