Lots of space and compresses very nicely with the straps. Not so many unnecessary "organization" pockets. Just a big ole space to put your stuff in. Frame is nice but heavy. Don't expect too much support from the waist band. Mostly use this for plane travel, as it is a little heavy for a daypack and not big enough for a true pack, but quality seems nice enough to handle the elements.

My wife and I each used this backpack for a 10 night trip to Italy. It packed very easily, and when you finally get everything in, it seems to find more space one you stand it up and things shift a bit. The side compression straps were very helpful in getting everything tightened up, and the pack is surprisingly comfortable, even on those treks to other concourses to arrive at your gate. We always felt like we were in control of the pack, rather than the other way around. The pockets are great, and the build quality appears to be in it for the long haul. It's the max size for a 22x9x14 (44L) carry-on, but easily gets in the overhead bins and opens easily enough to put it on over a bulky jacket. We like that it's one big space, and that your hands a free when navigating planes, trains and busses.

I love everything about this pack except the color. The backpack straps are comfortable. The waist belt is functional. The side compression straps are great if you didn't stuff the bag full. It holds way more than you would think. Used it for an 11 day trip.

Great carry on, just got it, and it is what I needed for my trip.
