Ralph Lauren Polo Red Parfum is een moderne, warme mannengeur die door veel dragers en testers als zeer massaal aantrekkelijk wordt ervaren. De geur opent fris en licht fruitig, maar ontwikkelt zich naar een warm, houtig en kruidig hart dat goed past bij casual en avondgebruik. Volgens meerdere reviews is de levensduur duidelijk beter dan de originele EDT, vaak rond de acht uur, maar de projectie blijft vrij bescheiden waardoor hij dicht op de huid blijft. Dat maakt hem veilig voor kantoor en dagelijks gebruik, maar minder geschikt als je een echt opvallende, krachtige geur zoekt. Een terugkerend punt is dat de geur prettig maar niet erg origineel is; hij wordt vaak omschreven als bekend en designer-achtig. Ook raden verschillende reviewers aan om te wachten op korting, omdat de adviesprijs als hoog wordt gezien voor wat je krijgt. Voor wie een makkelijk draagbare, vrouwelijke-aantrekkelijke rode geur zoekt met goede duur maar zachte uitstraling, is dit een solide keuze.

I tested the Polo Red Parfum and expected to get classic smell. But instead I get more modern vibe: sweet. I love only selective sweet fragrances. And this one not love, but okay for me. It still has classic vibe but not dominant. Performance is also decent, around 6 hours. Projection is controlled. And among all three classic Polo: green, blue and red, i like the red less. So I won't buy full bottle, as I think I got it covered with my other frags (modern ones) in my collection for this kinda ballpark.

This was probably one of my first real perfume experiences when I smelled Polo Red by Ralph Lauren for the first time at the airport in Bulgaria. Until then, I had always just been a BOSS Bottled wearer and never really thought about different scents. One was always enough for me. Well, in any case, I had this one in my hand at the aforementioned airport and tested it. The scent immediately captivated me. This freshness, but also this very spicy pepper note combined with the bitter and sweet of blood orange. Simply beautiful! The opening is very powerful, in my opinion, and then becomes quite soft and a bit woody as it develops. The freshness, as expected, is only a minimal nuance in the end, which makes this scent nice for winter evenings. Overall, there are certainly more refined perfumes with this DNA, but the price is not too high here, and you can easily wear it daily in autumn and winter.
