Dsquared2 Green Wood Eau de Toilette Spray

I wouldn't directly think of a forest when smelling this, but one thing is clear to me: this scent has a wonderfully green, clear, slightly spicy freshness. I find that the scent progression is quite linear, starting off very fresh-intense and then settling into a fresh-spicy heart note. The citrus-green dominates at the beginning and then transforms into a green-spicy profile. The interplay of the different notes creates a harmonious overall picture. Personally, I appreciate the vetiver that gradually penetrates pleasantly. For me, this is a good-mood everyday scent. As a reward, you can always reapply it now and then, as the longevity is somewhat limited. Well, on the plus side, the scent is very affordable for the quality you get. In the base and during the dry down, you find yourself on the forest floor. That's where the vetiver takes control.

The opening is a very fresh lemon in a pine needle forest. There is also something balsamic that adds warmth and depth to the fragrance. Even though the scent immediately makes me think of a forest, it certainly does not evoke a dirty forest floor or anything earthy. Rather, it has a freshness and elegance like after a shave. About like freshly sawn and oiled wood. Just like the guitar care oil based on lemon that soaks into the wood of the guitar. Then the wood becomes drier, the resin comes out and almost leans towards birch tar for me, but only very lightly. What remains until the end is the freshness. I find this to be a really great autumn fragrance.
