Have been obsessing about buying this for ages, and it is 100% worth it. Clean, fresh and elegant - love this!

Don't smell the same … I'm a santal 33 fragrancy for more than 5 years and first time I bought this … As a rule, different formulations of a scent do not smell the same, for various technical reasons. It's not just a matter of concocting a nice-smelling oil blend and then dumping it into an alcohol-and-water solvent, a soap base, a body lotion, and so on. It has to be reconstructed for each product. The Le Labo liquid balms are based on safflower oil, which not only has a smell of its own (minimal and inoffensive, but it's there), but which will also tend to tamp down top notes enough that they become an insignificant part of the composition. (Sometimes the top notes in oil- or wax- or silicone-based formulations are omitted entirely, because they're not going to register, so why include them?) An oil scent like this has to be reformulated and rebalanced to smell similar to the original scent, but it is unlikely to be an exact replica.
