Samyang 12mm F2.8 Fisheye Nikon AE

Love this lens. Will challenge your creativity. Its funny when you tell people they have to move behind you to get out of the picture, and you get these weird stares.

Ik heb dit product, in de K-bajonet, nu een aantal maanden in bezit. Ik ben tevreden over de kwaliteit van de bouw van het objectief. De beeldkwaliteit is prima. Let wel op met de zon recht op de optical as van het objectief, waardoor in mijn geval een blue spot zichtbaar wordt. Daarnaast heb ik bewust voor dit objectief gekozen vanwege de full frame (kleinbeeld) compatibiliteit, zodat ik deze voor (analoge) film en fullframe digitaal kan gebruiken. Daarnaast is dit objectief compact gebouwd. De scherpstelling gaat soepel.

This is my first non-Nikon, manual focus lens. While certainly not as point&shoot as Nikon, it forms excellent images. This is also my first fish-eye lens which offers its own challenges. With 180 capture, I had several images with my own feet or hands in the images. Overall, I am very please with this lens and would recommend to more advanced users interested in adding new creativity to their photography.

Everyone needs a fisheye lens. At 12mm, this one is just right. It gives me a wide-angle view though with the expected distortion. I am able to reduce the distortion with Corel Aftershot Pro, so this lens allows me to take some pretty impressive interior shots of the rooms of my house.

Rokinon is known for making inexpensive lenses that are very sharp and this one is no different. While it is a flimsy build, I'm only planning on using it occasionally for astro photography and possibly some architectural work. So for this is a very impressive lens.
