I decided to buy the Raynox DCR-250 Super Macro to digitize my black & white 35mm and 6×6 negatives using my 1st generation Sony RX100. I'd been copying the negatives for a while with the camera's macro setting, but the resultant photo didn't fill very much of the frame. With the Raynox DCR-250 I now fill 90% of the RX100's frame with the negative --90% because I include the negative's sprocket holes. I was surprised by how tack-sharp the Raynox is! I extend my lens to its maximum 100mm telephoto setting, shoot in RAW, convert the neg to a positive TIFF, and work from there in Photoshop. The Raynox has considerably increased the quality of my digitized negatives over my previous method with no discernible loss in resolution as far as I've been able to tell considering the addition of another optic on the RX100's lens.

Great glass!! Ther only down side is how close you have to get to achieve focus. Great for still macro photography. Even better on a 100mm macro lens. But not practical for insects or moving subjects.

Amazingly sharp, very sharp without paying $400-$500 for Macro lens, easy to use. If you don't want to spend $400 for Macro Lens this one is a must. I am having fun with this Macro Snap-On Lens. Tip: if you can not get sharp image you have to move your body little to focus works like a menu lens. The images I took here 100% no crop.

I get the concept. Buy a cheap options as apposed to spending hundreds or thousands on a macro lens, I did it too. But the follow through doesn’t work. The pictures aren’t as crisp as they should be. Disappointed in the product but can’t really complain for the price. Returned.

Wow...this thing makes sharp images...yes it is easy to use...I just use the spring loaded attachment...so I can attach it to my 18-55 and 55-200 Fuji lenses...but not able to attach it to my 35mms f/2 without a stepup/down ring...I love macro work...but was never able to get the compound eye of some insects...this lets me do that...with my aperture set at f/11 and f/16...you need to realize you are still working on a narrow depth of field...on my 55-y2k00 I have no issues...but on the 18-55 when shooting at the wider end...it kind of gives a fisheye effect and you can see the ring of the adapter...not a real problem...be cause most of the time I am using the zoom to get maximum magnification...really just buy this...it is that good
