De Klipsch S5i Rugged is ontworpen voor actieve gebruikers en biedt een weerbestendig ontwerp, stevige kabel en krachtige geluidskwaliteit. De grote afstandsbediening is makkelijk te bedienen, vooral met handschoenen, maar kan onhandig zijn en snel per ongeluk worden ingedrukt. De microfoon presteert matig bij telefoongesprekken door het oppikken van omgevingsgeluid. Kabelgeluid en een minder stabiele pasvorm bij intensief sporten zijn veelgenoemde nadelen. De geluidsisolatie is afhankelijk van een perfecte pasvorm, wat niet voor iedereen werkt. Overweeg deze hoofdtelefoon als je vooral buiten actief bent en degelijkheid belangrijk vindt, maar wees kritisch als je veel belt of maximale isolatie zoekt.

I don't know whether it's just my ears or the design, but if you want earphones that stay in your ears go for the Bose in-ear phones because they are 1000% more comfortable!

These are not significantly more durable than average. The waranty only covers manufacturing defects. Functionaly mine lasted for ten months of heavy use before they went off ballance, possibly due to a connection problem inside the left bud. By then they looked pretty bad, the paint comes off a bit and the rubber bits holding the wire at the bud both tore under normal use. If you wear them over ear the wire rustle is low, otherwise it is distracting. The audio is good enough. They are comfortable uless you want to rest your head on a pillow. The controler is not compatiable with Android devices. This would all be acceptable if they were cheaper and not marketed as durable, which they are not in any meaningful sense.

These are truly great headphones, a huge improvement over my old ones and I would recommend these to anyone who likes a great sound.

I've had a good few pairs of these over the years and none of them have really stood up to my really-not-that-gruelling outdoor lifestyle (10-20 miles gentle running a week, the occasional 10 mile bike commute). My most recent purchase was May 2013 (8 months ago at the time of writing) and that pair lasted a couple of months until the jack plug became intermittent. Those were returned for replacement and as soon as the replacements arrived I wound a couple of inches of duct tape around the plug to strengthen that particular part. My current pair have lasted until mid-January 2014 but now the right earphone has firstly become intermittent and now died completely. On inspection of each earphone, the 7mm of flexible plastic tubing protecting the cable where it enters the earphone has completely split on both sides, so I expect that loss of protection is to blame. So I would say that the product, in use, doesn't really live up to its description as rugged.
