De Technics EAH-AZ40E-S oordopjes vallen op door hun comfortabele, lichte pasvorm en uitstekende gesprekskwaliteit dankzij meerdere microfoons. De touch-bediening werkt soepel en de oordopjes zijn IPX4 waterbestendig, wat ze geschikt maakt voor sport en dagelijks gebruik. Nadelen zijn het ontbreken van actieve ruisonderdrukking, een bas die minder krachtig is dan bij sommige concurrenten, en beperkte ondersteuning voor Bluetooth-codecs. Ook voelt de oplaadcase wat fragiel aan. Voor wie comfort en heldere gesprekken belangrijk vindt, zijn dit sterke punten, maar audiofielen of wie veel reist, kunnen de beperkingen als storend ervaren.

On the surface not much seems to have changed, but the Technics EAH-AZ40M2 are a very fine sequel, improving in the places they needed to while maintaining a strong core of performance. For the money, they’re one of the best options I’ve tested and continue a strong recent run of form for Technics' headphones.
