De AKG K72 is een gesloten, over-ear, bedrade hoofdtelefoon met een zelfinstellende hoofdband, een gewicht van ongeveer 200 gram en een vaste kabel van circa 3 meter met 3,5 mm stereo plug en 6,3 mm adapter. De hoofdtelefoon gebruikt 40 mm dynamische drivers met een frequentiebereik van 16 tot 20.000 Hz, een gevoeligheid van 112 dB en een impedantie van 32 ohm. Kunstleren oorkussens omsluiten het oor volledig.

They may not have been expensive, but what good is it if they don't have bass? I might not know much about this; I'm an amateur, making music as a hobby in Ableton Live, and I've only recently been using these headphones. In the final mix, I boost the bass because there's not enough of it with the reference K72 headphones, and what's the result? The music mixed this way sounds terrible on another audio source because there's way too much bass, dominating the entire project. It's a trap... This is a serious problem for me; I'm not happy with these headphones. They're basically useless.

Without being exceptional, these headphones do the job, reproducing bass very well even at low amplification. Although it's not dramatic, I was a little disappointed with the highs, which were crushed by midrange that was a little too powerful.

I have had these headphones for 2 and a half years, and they've only just broke. great sound quality and great overall while they were new. some things weren't built to last i guess
