De Silent Hill HD Collection voor PS3 bevat remasters van deel 2 en 3, beide iconische horror games. Hoewel de collectie veel herspeelbaarheid en een sterke soundtrack biedt, zijn er grote technische problemen zoals framerate drops, slechte audio-sync en aangepaste fog die de sfeer aantast. Vooral puristen missen de originele stemmen in SH3. Voor wie de games nog nooit gespeeld heeft, is het een kans om ze te ervaren, maar bezitters van de originele versies zullen teleurgesteld zijn door de mindere kwaliteit van deze remaster. Er is veel discussie over de technische staat, maar de kern van de games blijft sterk.

I absolutely love the Silent Hill series, but to say that I hate the HD Collection is a HUGE UNDERSTATEMENT. The original games are amazing and even though they can feel dated they are much better than this garbage. The game barely ever runs at 30fps and it constantly dropped to less than 20fps in many parts of the game. It looks so much worse than the original, not that they look too terrible but the "remaster" is absolutely ugly. The game's load times between cutscenes and opening and closing your inventory is absolutely terrible, it is so slow, it's not even me being impatient either it's really that bad. I'm not going to type out everything wrong with this game, but just know that it is bad. My only message to fans and new comers of the series is don't pick this game up, it is not worth it. If you are going to play Silent Hill 2 or 3 play it on an emulator, or on the PS2, Xbox Classic, or PC.
