Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is een snelle, vrolijke arcade-voetbalgame vol spectaculaire anime-moves en speciale shots, ideaal voor fans van het genre en de serie. De visuele stijl is prachtig en trouw aan de manga, maar op PS4 zijn er wel technische problemen zoals lange laadtijden. De AI van teamgenoten kan frustrerend zijn en het dribbelen voelt wat beperkt. Wie een realistische voetbalsimulatie zoekt, moet verder kijken, maar voor plezier, actie en anime-flair is dit een aanrader.

The graphics are nice. I also like the gameplay. Usually I would be playing Fifa so the controls were different. But overall I think the game is pretty fun to play.

I have never seen an episode of this anime but the game is a fun one. Don't expect any serious gameplay like FIFA with this one, think of it as more of an NBA Jam type soccer game. The graphics are crisp and the over the top action moves are captured perfectly. This game is heavy on story and dialogue so prepare to read a lot since it isn't dubbed. After you beat story mode you get to play as other teams and follow their story so its got some replay value.

I had so much fun playing this game! And still playing it! Im not a big anime fan but even got into the show after getting this game! Super fun! Pros -Wicked soccer special moves keeping the game more fun and flashy! -2 great Story chapters and great replay value to win as different teams and a character of your own creation -Online mode with dream/customizable teams and add in customized players Cons -Its not hard to pick up and play but alot of specials especially dribbling dodge moves require perfect timing (but before the opponent attacks) which is weird but not hard to pick up. Specials work easily though. controls are diff to fifa -Some story missions are harder cuz teams can be unfairly advantaged especially with cutscenes showing the special move and it scoring points. Tip to focus on preventing the special move, or using special move bar to specialty block but it only loads up a few times in a match -It would be cool to have english dub but subtitles are good too

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions PS4 Review – Bandai Namco delves ever deeper into its bag of anime/manga licenses and brings out something that’s a little different this time. Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is, on the surface at least, an arcade football/soccer game with highly expressive anime stylings. Yet the footy is not really the key to the approach of the game, and as such, is both a source of great strength and Tsubasa’s biggest weakness. This game brings the near-40-year-old Captain Tsubasa manga kicking and screaming into the digital age to go along with the most recent anime adaptation.
