Lost Sphear biedt een gevarieerd en strategisch gevechtssysteem dat veel vrijheid geeft, ondersteund door mooie graphics en een sterke soundtrack. De kwaliteit-van-leven functies maken het spelen prettig. Wel is het verhaal vrij cliché en voorspelbaar, en de moeilijkheidsgraad van bazen kan frustrerend zijn. Het micromanagement van Spritnite vraagt veel aandacht en het spel neemt weinig artistieke risico’s, waardoor het soms weinig memorabel is. Voor liefhebbers van klassieke JRPG’s is het een degelijke keuze, maar verwacht geen grote vernieuwing.

This is a good little game if you know how to take it. It’s no BoTW or Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It’s also far from the best you’ll see come from anything associated with Square Enix but what it is is a great little RPG that you can play in handheld without needing to kill your Switch’s battery or give 23 out of your 24 hours in a day. The battle system is a little too deep for what it is but frankly you can get by more than well enough with basics anyway. It’s a very linear game but that makes it quick to play with it’s autosave function and many save points scattered throughout the game. The negative reviews I read for this game seem to be people not quite being able to understand that’s it’s not a billion hours long RPG and it’s also not Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy 6 even though it does pay homage to them. I’m really enjoying this game when I’m a bit stuck for time. I say play if you want an RPG that doesn’t require you to sell your soul/social like to play it! :D
