This lock is a beast. It's heavy, and I keep it in my trunk bag while cycling. Do be careful about how you put other things in your bag if you do, this thing will damage other things in the bag if it bounces around too much (like plastic lunch boxes). The thicker and smaller shackle will make locking up a bike a bit trickier depending on the geometry of your bike and the bike rack. It was long enough to run through the seat post and rear wheel of my bike (REI Co-Op CTY e1.1) to use like a cafe lock for a brief pit stop. I'd recommend getting a cable to help secure both wheels or the bike itself if you must use one of those 'half height' bike racks or otherwise lock to something you just can't get the lock around. Be aware that will make the cable the weakest link in the locking arrangement, so run the lock through the frame and back wheel if you do this.

When customers research this lock. They know what it weights, they buy it anyway. Then they complain about the weight!!! I’ve been a touring guy for over 60 yrs., I weight 150 lbs. so I carry a two pound lock. My weight and this lock still doesn’t add up to the 165 lb. Rider. Crossing the Australian continent On my specialized rock hopper. Loaded to the brim with gear. What’s an extra 2 pounds. I’m expecting this lock in the mail in two days.

I have been using my Fahgettaboudit" for over 11 years, have had 4 different bikes, none stolen.........knock on wood! Be sure to dry if off immediately if it gets rained on, otherwise the tumblers can get a little stiff. Yes, it is heavy, and expensive, but so what. Crime has gotten even worse in my area, so, I'm considering the heavy Kryptonite chain lock to supplement the Fahgettaboudit.

Strong lock no issues so far. Just make sure you don't force your key in the lock
