De Garmin Edge 1040 Solar valt op door zijn extreem lange batterijduur, vooral bij zonnige ritten en in bespaarstand. Het grote kleurentouchscreen en de nauwkeurige multi-band GPS maken navigeren en trainen eenvoudig en betrouwbaar. De interface is sterk verbeterd en het apparaat reageert snel. Wel is de zonne-oplaadfunctie afhankelijk van zonlicht, waardoor je bij bewolking of schaduw minder profiteert. Ook is de prijs fors hoger dan de standaardversie en neemt het grote formaat veel ruimte in op je stuur. Voor fanatieke fietsers en bikepackers is dit een topmodel, maar voor casual gebruikers zijn de vele functies soms overkill.

This was an upgrade from my Garmin 520. Wow! the battery life is outstanding, on a 5 hr ride the solar charging meant the battery only dropped 9% . It also brings many other features too. Yes an expensive piece of kit, but well worth the money.

Ik geraak er overal mee en helpt mij mijn conditie te verbeteren. Daarnaast zeer fijn dat het zo veilig is. Bij het gladde weer uitgeschoven en de fietscomputer bracht direct mijn gezin op de hoogte. Het opladen op zone-energie is ook een groot voordeel je hoeft het apparaatje eigenlijk nooit echt op te laden. accessoires meegeleverd om alles proper te monteren. Beter dan dit word het niet direct denk ik #topproduct
