If video killed the radio star, it begat a whole new generation of music hitmakers who valued image as much as sound. At the head of that list is George Michael, who proves here after 25 years he's mastered the fine art of looking good while sounding fine. If there's precious little soul here, well, that may not be what the goal was to begin with.

I have been a George Michael fan since I was 14 yrs old and I have seen him 3 times in concert. This BD looked very good on my Kuro with the awesome blacks throughout the show and my sub got one hell of a work out during the fast paced tunes. I was however dissapointed with GM's set list, Where was "I want your sex", "Praying for time", "Monkey"? and many more good tunes from past. Overall I was pleased with this concert BD but George should of had some faith in his catalog of tunes and gave some of them one more try before releasing this disc.

Video is great, audio is good, albeit bass-heavy, but the disc itself is a waste. While I am not a George Michael purist, I do enjoy his music. However, since when did he go from a musician to a performer? Sure, he can change into a police uniform for his performance of 'Outside' (where he was caught performing lewd acts in an outdoor bathroom), but not jeans and a leather jacket for 'Faith'? Or even play a guitar for 'Faith'? And getting the crowd to sing songs does not a concert make. He points the mic at the crowd around 3-4 times during his big hits (Careless Whisper, Freedom, Everything She Wants, Etc.). In addition, the way the concert is laid out, it's bizarre - two up-beat songs, then 2-3 crooners. It doesn't create a great energy level. While I really, really wanted to like this disc, and searched long for this disc, I am left disappointed.

It is a pitty that they used not enough lightness, what is essential for Blu-Ray. Often George is in a sort of shade caused by the lightness behind him. Also close-ups of George face are missing. Maybe on his request? As Stereo listener satisfied. Eric

bought George Michael Live in London and received it yesterday, did a quick run on it as well with my initial impressions being - exceptional video quality. definitely one helluva choice for eye candy. comparative to Celine Dions Live in Las Vegas, without celine. - audio could be better, but could be worse too, considering the disc was front heavy, with little to no surround activity. im glad that they didnt use the 'faux-crowd' effect found in most concerts (sort of like the Eagles Hell freezes over dvd at times, which personally annoyed me a bit) definitely worth looking in to. Audio by the way: DTSMA PCM Stereo Dolby Digital, 1:78 confirmed aspect ratio 1080p
