Beware of this disc if you have a nice sound...

Just as they did with Neil Diamond, Sony screwed up the lossless multichannel mix here. Both are pathetic and should be recalled. For the first time I actually had to figure out how to turn Tone Defeat off on my receiver to give this a little bass! C'mon guys.

The Piano Man...

Possibly one of the best Blu-Ray music discs I own. As already mentioned by others, full rich colours and a sharp picture. I couldn't really complain about the PCM5.1 sound. The show was a fantastic collection of Billy's hits and many early numbers which were improved upon with a stunning brass section. Weakest song for me was Shameless with Garth Brooks. Garth had no heart and to me, just didn't come off. Strongest guest is hard to say but certainly Sir Paul McCartney ending the show was fantastic. The Beatles were the first to play at Shea and in a way, the last to close. Well worth the price. Excellent!

Great Picture and PCM 2.0 Track

I am a huge Billy Joel fan and really enjoyed the song selection of this disc, as well as the picture quality. The PCM 2.0 track sounds fantastic. The 5.1 track, however, leaves much to be desired. When I switched to the 5.1 track all of the bass disappeared and the songs sounded very pale against the 2.0 track. I am still happy with the purchase because I love the songs, but will probably never use the PCM 5.1.

Better Than Some Have Rated

First of all, let me be clear that this is an excellent concert. The passion and energy of the performers, including Billy Joel, is incredible. The guest stars bring a lot to the show and offer some stellar performances of both Billy Joel songs as well as their own songs. The sound is thinner than I'd like on the 5.1 mix but the PCM 2.0 sounds good to my ears. I was able to adjust the subwoofer levels to actually get okay bass on the 5.1 mix, but really the PCM mix is good enough to keep me happy. This is one of my favorite Blu-Fay concerts that I own, and I own quite a few.

I have a new disc to compete for my music...

I simply love this disc. The video is stunning, even if not perfect there wasn't anything major to distract from normal viewing. As for the audio, I find it crisp and clear. The main issue I have with the mix isn't the bass or midrange it's how forward the vocals are. I know that's a matter of taste so it's not too big of a knock. I found the instrumentation mix to be perfect, just the vocals were too hot. It wasnt this was in every song, but very prevalent early on. I much prefer the PCM 5.1 mix to the stereo mix and didnt even give the DD 5.1 a spin. I'm a bit shocked at such different takes on the same disc. I'm delighted with this purchase
