De Olympus OM-3 Body Silver met 12-45mm F4 Pro lens wordt geprezen om zijn robuuste, weerbestendige behuizing en de scherpe, veelzijdige lens. Het systeem is opvallend compact en licht, wat het ideaal maakt voor reizen en dagelijks gebruik. Nadelen zijn het ontbreken van ingebouwde beeldstabilisatie in de body, wat vooral bij langere sluitertijden merkbaar is, en de autofocus die bij weinig licht minder snel reageert. Ook is de zoeker kleiner dan bij sommige concurrenten, wat voor sommigen een minpunt kan zijn. Over het algemeen is dit een sterke keuze voor fotografen die mobiliteit en bouwkwaliteit waarderen.

Big step up from my previous bridge camera which shows in the image quality and configurable setting. Great to get back some of that film SLR feel with quick access to manual overrides.

A lovely little camera packed with features. The in camera graduated ND and ND filters have had more use than I expected, and the image quality (RAW images processed using DXO PhotoLab) is excellent. The colours are really nice and the creative dial is great when you want to have a little fun. Build quality is very good and the camera, though not heavy, feels solid extremely well put together. The only negative, from my point of view, is that the camera doesn't come with an external charger, but the saving made on the offer purchase price more than covered the cost an an external charger and AC Adapter. Style and substance!

Inspired by a 35mm film SLR from 1983, the fully digital OM-3 mirrorless camera builds on the heritage and goodwill afforded the former Olympus, while inheriting the OM System OM-1 II flagship’s latest tech. The only irony is that the Four Thirds format sensor at the new model’s heart remains smaller than a 35mm film frame. Still, images are bright, colourful and richly detailed, with plenty of creative tweaks able to be made in-camera at the press of a button.

OM System has unveiled the prettiest and outright funnest camera for 2025 so far, the OM-3. It's inspired by the analog OM-1 from the 1970s, and its retro looks are just as appealing now. With other current models like the OM-5 offering something similar in the looks department I would have preferred a rangefinder-style body and true Pen-F upgrade, rather than the raised viewfinder hump, but it's a gorgeous camera nonetheless. Under the hood there are plenty of modern smarts, including clever computational modes that do away with time-draining edits, plus a stacked sensor that delivers incredible speed and autofocus performance. If you can live with the Micro Four Thirds sensor that's smaller than full-frame, but which enables a truly compact and lightweight camera / lens system, then the OM-3 should be right at the top of your shopping list.
