Naast een R5 en een R6mkii gebruik ik deze R5mkii. Ook een R3 overwogen. Mooie feature is de pre continuous opname, waardoor je een net gemist moment toch geregistreerd hebt. Bij sport echt super. Rolling shutter bij gebruik Eshutter is goed, de tennisballen die bij de R6ii nog ovaal waren zijn weer bijna rond. Grote stoorzender voor mij is de tegenvallende ruisprestatie bij hoge iso, zelfs met EFCS. Waar ik met de R6ii nog naar 8000 of 10000 durf te gaan, en bij de R5 iso 6400, is bij de R5ii zelfs iso 5000 eigenlijk de grens. Bij sport en evenement kom ik dan een halve stop tekort. Eye control is een leuke gimmick, maar zonder lukt ook prima. Als ik het over mocht doen? R5 voor studio, en de R3 voor sport...

I purchased the R5 MK II Camera in November of 2025 and this has been a nice upgrade from the R6 MK II, but enjoying both of them. Fast, Sharp, Accurate, and a joy to use. I will keep this simple and just show you some basic photos that were shot with Canon L series lenses including the RF14-35 F4, RF24-105 F4, RF50 1.4, RF70-200 F4, and RF100-500 F4.5-7.1.

I enjoy using my Canon R5 Mark Ii; however, my biggest disappointment is the high iso noise levels are significantly higher than my 5D Mark IV and R1. After seeing the images produced by the R5 Mark II compared to my other 2 cameras, I believe 30 megapixels is the sweet spot. Most images from my R5 Mar II need to have noise reduction in Lightroom applied. Otherwise, the R5 Mark II is a great camera.

I am a Wildlife Photographer, focusing on birds and upgraded from the R6 M2 to the R5 M2. The speed, accurate auto focusing, pre-focusing ability and the Highlight tone Priority are a game changer! As I prefer to shoot in bright light, I am not overly concerned that this camera does not perform as well as the R6 M2 in low light. Overall, a good choice for me!
