De Canon EOS R5 met RF 28-70mm F/2L USM levert topklasse beeldkwaliteit en een uniek constant f/2 diafragma, wat ideaal is voor weinig licht en creatieve fotografie. De lens is robuust, weerbestendig en biedt snelle, stille autofocus. Door het grote formaat en gewicht is hij minder geschikt voor lange shoots of reizen. Er is geen ingebouwde beeldstabilisatie in de lens, dus je bent afhankelijk van de camerabody. De prijs en het grote filterformaat zijn belangrijke overwegingen voor kopers. I use this for food photography as it's light and easy to use but mainly for travel photography, as it is so flexible.

The R5 mk2 is a great improvement on the original R5. Much better autofocus and subject tracking and the pre-capture is excellent for wildlife, particularly birds in flight. The high ISO is perhaps not quite as good as the R5 but noise reduction software has improved in that time so its not so much of an issue. There are a couple of things that I find annoying: No lens hood is supplied and no printed user guide either. To charge another £44 for a plastic lens hood and not even show it as an optional acccessory when you are spending over £5k on a camera is not what I would expect from Canon.

I have had great success with recent aurora and wildlife shots. Very sharp images. However noise is an issue at higher iso. Fortunately it's nothing that can't be easily fixed in photoshop
