De Canon EOS R5 met RF 50mm F/1.8 STM biedt topkwaliteit foto's en video's, snelle autofocus en uitstekende prestaties bij weinig licht. De camera is zeer geschikt voor professionals en gevorderde fotografen, vooral door de hoge resolutie en geavanceerde videofuncties. Wel is het toestel prijzig, en bij langdurig filmen in 8K kan het warm worden. De batterijduur is redelijk, maar intensief gebruik vraagt om extra accu's. De lens is licht en scherp, ideaal voor dagelijks gebruik. Geen ingebouwde flitser is een kleine beperking voor sommige gebruikers.

I use this for food photography as it's light and easy to use but mainly for travel photography, as it is so flexible.

The R5 mk2 is a great improvement on the original R5. Much better autofocus and subject tracking and the pre-capture is excellent for wildlife, particularly birds in flight. The high ISO is perhaps not quite as good as the R5 but noise reduction software has improved in that time so its not so much of an issue. There are a couple of things that I find annoying: No lens hood is supplied and no printed user guide either. To charge another £44 for a plastic lens hood and not even show it as an optional acccessory when you are spending over £5k on a camera is not what I would expect from Canon.

I have had great success with recent aurora and wildlife shots. Very sharp images. However noise is an issue at higher iso. Fortunately it's nothing that can't be easily fixed in photoshop
