De Garmin GPSMAP 65 valt op door zijn hoge nauwkeurigheid dankzij multi-band GNSS, wat vooral merkbaar is in bossen of canyons. Het apparaat werkt op AA-batterijen, wat handig is voor meerdaagse tochten zonder stroom. De batterijduur is goed, maar de indicator is niet altijd betrouwbaar. Het scherm is klein en heeft een lagere resolutie dan duurdere modellen, waardoor het minder geschikt is voor kaartoverzicht. Bluetooth-synchronisatie met de Garmin Explore-app werkt, maar is omslachtig en beperkt qua functionaliteit. Voor wie vooral nauwkeurigheid en flexibiliteit in stroomvoorziening zoekt, is dit een sterke keuze, maar wie een groot, scherp scherm of geavanceerde connectiviteit wil, kan beter verder kijken.

My best tool next to my trowel :) This is so easy to teach TOs to use in the field when tablets are limited and GPS programs not always easy for them to learn. a one or 2 button press means they never miss an artefact and these little beauties are tough for fieldwork.

Garmin has been a true and trusted brand of GPS that I have stayed with for 20 years and more. This is my latest model and the love its ease of use and trouble free uploading of files. I highly recommend this model.
