De Cherry G84-4100 is een ultracompact toetsenbord dat ideaal is voor wie weinig ruimte heeft of een slanke pc gebruikt. Het mechanische ML-schakelaarmechanisme zorgt voor een lange levensduur en een duidelijk voelbare aanslag. De bouwkwaliteit wordt vaak geprezen: het toetsenbord voelt stevig en duurzaam aan. Wel melden veel gebruikers dat de toetsen aan de randen kunnen vastlopen en dat de compacte layout niet prettig is voor mensen met grote handen. Ook ontbreken extra functies zoals verlichting. Over het algemeen is dit toetsenbord vooral geschikt voor wie een compacte, betrouwbare oplossing zoekt en geen uitgebreide extra's nodig heeft.

Speciaal boardje vanwege compacte formaat en de CherryML switches. Cherry ML zijn speciale low profile switches die desondanks een aangename travel hebben van 3 mm. Komend van scissor switches vind ik dit een goede tussenstop tussen de gebruikelijke key travel van 4 mm die ik persoonlijk echt te hoog vind.

I bought this model of keyboard 4 or 5 years ago and it's still fine. It gives lots of space to the right to work with the mouse. The keystroke length and key spacing are easy, and I am not a child nor a person with small hands. Big plus, the white letters on black keys have remained clear despite VERY heavy use over those years - I'm talking about 2 novels and 10 issues of a magazine plus all the other usual stuff. (The previous Cherry mini which I kept as a spare because it still works, was ivory with black letters, which rapidly wore off.) Tiny negative - the backspace key is quite small and I regularly hit Home instead, even after all these years. Other than that, I'm looking to buy another to keep in stock while it's still available.

Gekocht bij Alternate, die hadden het bordje met de gewenste lay-out beschikbaar. Klein maar fijn bordje met over het algemeen een redelijke goede afwerking.

The keyboard itself is okay but the style of this compact keyboard feels really weird and takes a while to get used too but for some people it can be okay
