De Amazfit GTR 3 Pro Zwart valt op door zijn grote, heldere AMOLED-scherm en uitgebreide gezondheidsfuncties zoals SpO2, stressmeting en meer dan 150 sportmodi. De batterij gaat bij normaal gebruik tot een week mee, wat beter is dan veel concurrenten. Het ontwerp is stijlvol en licht, waardoor het horloge prettig draagt. Handsfree bellen en offline spraakbediening zijn handige extra’s. Nadelen zijn de sterke afhankelijkheid van de Zepp-app, een beperkte app store en het ontbreken van antwoordmogelijkheden op berichten. Slaaptracking en hartslagmeting zijn niet altijd accuraat en NFC ontbreekt, waardoor contactloos betalen niet mogelijk is. Voor wie een stijlvolle smartwatch zoekt met veel gezondheidsfuncties en een goede batterij, is dit een sterke keuze, maar software en app-ondersteuning blijven achter bij de grote merken.

This fitness watch looks the part and offers a generally good smartwatch experience too. The software that lies beneath that slick exterior isn’t quite as polished though. This is another good Amazfit smartwatch at a good price, but it's not a smartwatch classic.

The Amazfit GTR 3 Pro is a smartwatch that will look great on your wrist and offers up a nice mix of fitness and smartwatch staples for Android and iPhone owners. You’ll also get the kind of battery life that won’t have you charging it every day, but it’s still very early days with Zepp’s brand new OS and app store, which are lacking big name apps (and apps in general). Software isn’t free from the odd bug or two either, and ultimately the Pro is a good but not flawless smartwatch.

With the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro, Zepp Health proves once again that it knows how to make an attractive smartwatch and how to pack it with software features aplenty. What it also shows is that it still has got a thing or two to learn on the software front because what's here is buggy. The promise of a proper smartwatch OS hasn't been truly realised here as yet either, though we're sure that things will improve on that front. Until it does, this is another Amazfit watch that looks good and works well, but still has a way to go to match the major smartwatch players.
