Very good product. Does its job without any loss of signal or throughput. I used it to replace an 8-port Netgear that was full and often had to reshuffle sockets (I have 25 in the house). It is rack-mounted in a 19" rack (two tabs on the sides need to be added). All the screws and bolts are supplied except for the bay, which may not be standard. 2 bonding sockets (LACP) to the NAS and no worries. The only (small) drawback is the factory setting: it's in fixed IP and not DHCP. And so, to access the Html interface when connecting for the first time, you have to use a hacked connection with a PC reconfigured for the occasion. The web interface is relatively clear. In any case, it's not often used.

The switch is very quiet, as it does not have a fan. I have not yet tried the management tools, as I dont currently need to setup any VLANs or QoS. The rack ears seem to fit well, and Im sure they work great in a regular rack. However, I was hoping to do a wall-mount, and it doesnt have any holes to support that style of mounting. It has only been running for a few days, but seems to be doing well, even with sensitive video streaming.

I got this switch to replace my 8 port Netgear and I am glad I did. The Netgear was fine, but I needed more ports and it ran a little hot for my taste. This gives me all the functionality I need and had with the previous switch, so I am please with the unit (Vlans was a must have). Wish Dlink also provided the documentation on their site. I was trying to avoid using the CD-Rom, but if you don't, you can't configure the switch via the web without knowing 10.90.90.90 setting
