This is a great access point for two reasons. 1.) Because it is a Trendnet Dual Band access point. 2.) It utilizes 802.11 AC on it's 5GHz band. I know it's expensive, however if you require a dual band access point this is definitely worth the price.

Mounted on the ceiling of the main floor of our house. This puts it right in the center between the basement and the second floor. Great coverage through the house. Pretty easy GUI to help configure the device but I would not recommend it for the novice home user. Get your geeky neighbor to help you! :) What I particularly like is that its PoE (Power Over Ethernet), my network connection powers the unit so I didn't have to get a power outlet to the mounting location. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.

very difficult to install. The instructions were not that clear. It only supports a windows environment.

nice, low profile and feature rich. Installed in a location with cinderblock construction. Signal penetration is decent but not great, but this would be an issue for most access points. POE feature makes device placement flexible!
