My boss needed a way to dictate...he bought an inexpensive Olympus from a local box store...and everytime he put it down, and came back...it would start a new file. So he had to upload 30+ files, then download/print them...so I contacted Olympus and they recommended this model. It works very well for what we need...well enough that I'm going to pick one up for myself also...

When my initial purchase arrived the foot pedal was broken so I had to return the set. I was pleased with the quick response I received from the seller and ordered a replacement. It arrived promptly and was very easy to set up and use. Voice playback is clear so it makes transcribing a breeze.

I purchased this recorder for recording interviews, conducted both face to face and over the telephone. I really like this recorder. It's easy to use, has excellent sound quality and clearly records conversations using a speaker phone. It's an excellent recorder for the price!

I’ve been using the DS for months now with no problems at all. You can find models that are slightly smaller and less expensive, but you’ll give up the ability to edit and add to your dictation without having to create multiple file. You can simply press stop, rewind a little to find the place you want to continue from, and press record to keep going.
