De Synology DS224+ is een compacte en stille NAS met een krachtig besturingssysteem en veel apps, ideaal voor kleine bedrijven en thuisgebruikers. Dankzij de twee Gigabit LAN-poorten is link aggregatie mogelijk, maar snellere 2.5GbE ontbreekt. De prestaties zijn goed voor back-up, mediastreaming en kantoorwerk, maar de CPU-upgrade is minimaal ten opzichte van oudere Plus-modellen. Met maximaal 2 schijven en 6GB RAM is de uitbreidbaarheid beperkt. Voor wie een betrouwbare, gebruiksvriendelijke NAS zoekt met veel software-ondersteuning, is dit een sterke keuze, maar wie meer snelheid of uitbreidingsmogelijkheden wil, moet verder kijken.

Synology - Rock-solid hardware. This NAS replaced my almost 10 year old Synology NAS that failed when a lightning strike took out everything on my network. It is reliable and feature rich.

Works great with Plex Server, great software and easy to load and work with. Has dual 1G Lan Ports, but no WIFI.

Upgraded from old Synology DS218play to improve Plex server. It was painless - just moved 2 hard drives and followed easy DSM directions. Plex server performance has noticeably improved.

I got so tired of my phone always being full to the point I had to delete pictures I really wanted. The photo app allows me to move them all off my phone and still access them when out. I also run a media server from it which is awesome. Moved all my videos and music to it now I can even run my iTunes from it
