Ik had een Dell 27" 4k aangesloten op mijn MacBook Pro M2, maar ik was toch niet tevreden over de weergave. Na een jaar uiteindelijk besloten om wat extra geld uit te geven aan die Apple scherm. Goedkoop? Nee! Is het het waard? Ja! Binnen 5 minuten was ik al verkocht. Geweldig scherm voor een Mac(Book).

Het scherm is prachtig en past perfect bij het Apple plaatje. De DPI van dit scherm maakt het echt waard. Het Retina effect van Apple is niet na te bootsen met een 4k scherm. Alleen heb ik dit product moeten retourneren omdat de PSU in het scherm een hoge pieptoon ging maken na 2 weken. Als ik meerdere apparaten aan deed ging het scherm nog meer piepen. Dit is een algemeen probleem met het scherm en er is geen oplossing voor. In mijn optiek is dit gewoon niet acceptabel voor een scherm van 2000 euro. Daarom mijn advies om dit scherm bij een (web)winkel te kopen waar retourneren mogelijk is.

The Apple Studio Display 2022 is decent for content creation in SDR. It has exceptional accuracy before calibration in the sRGB picture mode that you can only access with macOS, so you won't need to calibrate it, and it displays a wide range of colors, but it doesn't support HDR at all. It also has a 27-inch screen with a 5k resolution, displaying sharp images with a ton of detail. Sadly, it has terrible ergonomics as it's hard to adjust to your favorite position, but you can buy a variant with a VESA mount adapter instead.

Best IPS panel on the market. There are very few 5k displays out there with this pixel density. Among them Apple is the best by far: the contrast ratio, the color accuracy, the build quality. There’s just nothing like it. However, it is 60Hz. That’s honestly the biggest draw back. I’m hoping that for the next generation Apple updates it to mini-LED tech like in Retina XDR and adds ProMotion variable refresh rate. Then the price would be justified and it would truly be a leap ahead of competition.
