Great on branches right up to the size (and beyond) with great strength. But don't have many leaves on the branch or it'll clog up. Might be different with some types of leaves - but so far all I have tested will bung it up. Maybe ok if the leaves are left for a while (& dry). I strip off the leaves with a gloved hand quite easy and they don't take up much space. My old spinning disc shredder does leaves OK but struggles with branches so I separate the pile to suit the shredder!

Whilst this product is effective once assembled, there is a design defect which hinders assembly. The internal threads to which the wheel frame is bolted are vulnerable to coming detached from the main body casing, making it difficult / impossible to attach the frame. I had to return the first delivery as it was impossible to assemble. I managed to assemble the second delivery (after exchanging the first one) but only after using a bit of cunning and force to get it into a position to screw in the bolts. Beware.

all in all, very disappointing. Chews and blocks (in the Shute below) very quick. The blade holds squashed matter and just stops cutting, causing a backlog in the feed top. If you want to shred garden matter, consider cutting it 3 week in advance and storing somewhere dry ready for shredding sometime in the future. it might be brilliant for pulping blackberries for making blackberry wine, but useless for shredding garden waste.

Assembled easily, I see the way turning the switch to reverse could be mildly irritating but not really a problem. Shredded some mixed items [sprout stalks, dry twigs & some fresh hedge & ivy clippings] as well as my old machine. lead is very short & I can foresee large amounts of hedge clippings with twisted & divided stalks taking a long time to feed in but in these 'elf & safety times all machines for domestic use seem to have small input slots, the only other way is to buy an industrial trailer shredder.

Excellent bit of kit for the price works best on dry wood
