De Xiaomi Redmi 9A is een budgetsmartphone die vooral uitblinkt in accuduur dankzij de ruime 5000 mAh batterij. Gebruikers melden echter dat het toestel extreem traag is in dagelijks gebruik door de combinatie van de zwakke MediaTek Helio G25 processor en slechts 2GB werkgeheugen. Meerdere reviews beschrijven de vertraging als 'insane' en zelfs oudere gebruikers vinden het toestel te langzaam. Het 6,53 inch scherm biedt een prettige kijkervaring met blauwe lichtbescherming, maar de camera en algemene prestaties zijn teleurstellend. De gezichtsontgrendeling werkt traag en is bij weinig licht bijna onbruikbaar. Voor kopers die een telefoon zoeken voor enkel bellen en berichten kan dit toestel voldoen, maar voor apps, gaming of multitasking is het niet aan te raden. De prijs is laag, maar de gebruikservaring lijdt onder ernstige prestatietekortkomingen.

While this is a great and inexpensive smartphone, I am writing this review to warn U.S. customers that if you have T-Mobile and plan on using this device in the U.S., you will likely not be able to take advantage of mobile data. This has been my experience and T-Mobile's official answer after much troubleshooting. I am not very technical, but I think LTE band 66 is what is missing in this device for use with T-Mobile. So where the description suggests, "Compatible with Most GSM Carriers like T-Mobile, AT&T, MetroPCS, etc", this (in my experience) only relates to calling and texting. I think this is important to know before your purchase.

I have bought a couple of these for family in other countries and as far as i knew they were never bad, i don't know if the one i bought for me was just bad luck, or there is something wrong with this particular phone, but this is the slowest thing i have ever seen. You cant do anything on the phone without it taking 30 seconds and by anything i mean even swiping down to see your apps. This phone is just insanely frustrating to work

I have bought a couple of these for family in other countries and as far as i knew they were never bad, i don't know if the one i bought for me was just bad luck, or there is something wrong with this particular phone, but this is the slowest thing i have ever seen.
