De Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 512GB valt op door zijn grote coverscherm en krachtige prestaties dankzij de Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Het nieuwe scharnier zorgt voor een plat, stijlvol ontwerp zonder opening. De bouwkwaliteit is hoog, maar de batterijduur blijft achter en de camera's zijn niet beter dan bij de vorige generatie. Opladen gaat relatief langzaam en het toestel mist officiële stofbestendigheid. Voor wie een compacte, stijlvolle foldable zoekt met goede prestaties, is dit een sterke keuze, maar er zijn duidelijke compromissen op batterij en camera.

+ Ik geloof dat flip phones de toekomst zijn daar deze werkelijk terug mobiele telefoons zijn en geen lompe baksteen in uw zak. Nooit gedacht dit te vermelden, maar het is enorm aangenaam om open en dicht te klappen; het voelt echt als een gadget. + Alsook de noodzaak om de telefoon open te klappen voor alle functionaliteit forceert de gebruiker—of toch mij—om bewuster om te gaan met het toestel, en deze enkel te openen wanneer nodig. - Had graag ongelimiteerde keuze gehad van widgets op het cover screen, maar helaas zijn enkel standaard widgets mogelijk. - Samsung/Android komt met veel Samsung apps, Bixby, of AI zever die overbodig zijn en batterij verbruiken. Gelijk gedisabled. PS Heb deze tweedehands gekocht met een batterij aan ± 75 % van originele capaciteit. Screen On Time ligt rond de drie uur "helaas", zelfs met normale refresh rate en geoptimaliseerd. Anders prima levensduur.

Ive had 3 different models of this phone and on each one thw screen malfunctioned. They still havent designed a screen that can withstand the constant opening and closing of the fold and the screen becomes so damaged that it juat goea black after less than a year of regular use. Cant believe they are atill maeketing it like it is some innovative product. Buy at your own risk.

The phone itself is fantastic. But the ergonomics are eclipsed by the incredibly poor battery life. You need to have a auxiliary battery on hand at all times because the battery life literally goes from 100% to 5% in about 3 hours. I've tried all of the suggested battery saving suggestions from Verizon corporate, but they don't do squat.

The battery life on this phone is abysmal. You need to carry a portable charger with you at all times because the phone will go from 100% to 0 within 3 hours. And that kind of totally defeats the ergonomic design. Also, this phone does not include DEX, which I found to be a really wonderful feature on my previous Samsung phones.

I am not typically a brand loyalist, but I have been with both Galaxy phones and Verizon. At first I loved my Flip 5, it fit into my pocket, the screen was totally handy, all-in-all it was a dream phone. Then, it developed the dreaded green line across the screen at the fold. I had this repaired once by Samsung, at a cost of about $250. After a few months it has developed the same problem, only this time neither Samsung nor Verizon will provide support. My out-of-pocket cost is more than I still owe on the phone, but Samsung and Verizon will not accept it for trade-in. It's really too bad, I've been with Verizon and Samsung for over 25 years but now I will be seeking an alternative so that I don't get jammed again the phone. Verizon/Samsung: You just lost a very good and loyal customer.
