Duurzaamheid is uitstekend: drop tests tonen dat het Grade 5 titanium frame en Gorilla Armor 2 glas uitstekende bescherming bieden tegen vallen, hoewel camera lensringen onder extreme omstandigheden kunnen losraken. Het grotere en fellere 6.9-inch scherm met minimale randen levert een premium visuele ervaring. Kopers moeten echter weten dat de RAM niet is verhoogd buiten Azië en dat de batterijcapaciteit en oplaadsnelheid identiek zijn aan de voorganger. Voor de prijs had men meer geheugen of sneller opladen mogen verwachten. De magnetische draadloze oplaadcapaciteit vereist een aparte case, wat onhandig is. Kortom: een solide vlaggenschip met topprocessor en camera, maar incrementele verbeteringen op andere gebieden.
