De Samsung Galaxy A16 4G is een degelijke budgettelefoon die vooral uitblinkt in batterijduur en langetermijnondersteuning. Met zes jaar OS-updates biedt Samsung een toekomstbestendige investering, hoewel de bescheiden Helio G99-processor en 4GB RAM op termijn mogelijk moeite krijgen met nieuwe Android-versies. Het 6,7-inch Super AMOLED-scherm met 90Hz ververst prettig, maar mist helderheid voor fel zonlicht en HDR-support. De hoofdcamera van 50MP levert degelijke foto's voor deze prijsklasse, maar de 5MP ultrawide is zeer basis en videomogelijkheden blijven beperkt tot 1080p30fps zonder stabilisatie. Voor licht dagelijks gebruik zoals bellen, berichten en media is het toestel prima geschikt, maar zware games of intensieve multitasking zorgen voor vertragingen. Kopers moeten afwegen of de langdurige softwareondersteuning opweegt tegen de beperkte hardware, vooral wanneer concurrenten meer krachtige specificaties bieden voor vergelijkbaar geld.
