After a year and a half of home use the print is not acceptable. A lot of ink spots remain on the sheet of paper. Even after replacing the toner, the situation remains. The annual printer service costs twice as much as the printer itself.

It worked perfectly until WIN10 did its Creatives and later auto updates. Then it progressively failed: first, it would not scan to file/PC; then it would not print a selected page number (it repeated an earlier one); finally, it displayed a "lid open" notice (it wasn't), and refused to print at all. Updating the Brother software made no difference, nor did uninstalling an re-installing the software. Who is to blame: Brother or Microsoft? Probably both. Still under warranty, now begins the added hassle of return/refund.

Please do not buy this product. I had problem with this item two times. I sent for repair, but they repair and the problem still persist. The service is really very poor because they talk very technical language and difficult to follow. Do not recommend to buy this product.
