Makita HW140 230V Hogedrukreiniger 140 bar

This machine is a definite step up in quality from the next model down in Makita's range the HW132. Whilst the HW132 claims to be a professional machine and isn't, the HW140 claims to be a professional machine and probably does justify this description. I'm a heavy, rural, domestic user and this machine really does the job, what I really like is that all the fittings are of the industry standard so, if you need to extend the hose for instance, you can drop in to your local agri merchants and get everything you need. At 140Bar and 500L/h this machine has plenty of power and seems of much stronger construction than the HW132, I was tempted to give it five stars but because the price is pretty steep it only gets four. Conclusion: A good machine which works well and should last a good while. Not cheap but quality never is.

I've bought thousands of pounds worth of Makita tools in the past and all have been great - except this piece of diabolical rubbish. Its badly made, poor designed and simply not fit for purpose. Save your money and use a bucket - its going to be more effective. So - the wheels don't stay on The soap dispenser cap doesn't fit properly The soap dispenser only dispenses when it feels like it (and can only use thin Makita soap) The handle for the hose reel doesn't stay in place The hose connection to the base is cheap plastic and fiddly to reconnect when it frequently comes but finally, and this is the most annoying - the pressure only works when it feels like it - even off a high pressure mains. You can be spraying and then it will just cut out and take 30 seconds to fire up again. Seriously this is only useful for recycled plastic.

I purchased this pressure washer' and I wish I read the reviews. I used it 2 times'the first time just to test it. Went to clean my car used it for 3 min then bang. still have not heard a word from Makita . So much for being a professional pressure washer????

I purchased this for typical domestic use like car washing, patio/wall cleaning, etc. I was attracted by it's neat design with build-in hose reel & attachments holder so it's all kept together. However, after 5 seconds of use, a loud pop & a spray of water signaled the end. On investigation, I found that the hose connector in the middle of the hose-reel had come out and, as it appeared to be a cheap plastic connector, it had damaged itself & would not stay in place. All other pressure washer connections I have ever seen are a metal screw-together type, not a plastic push-together with a quarter turn twist. Thankfully, Amazon took it back & refunded me. I since purchased a Draper 6.5HP petrol driven washer. Too early to tell if that's a good decision....:>)
