I have given it a test drive and very happy with the shotgun mic.. Shure company tells all and delivers a great mic for my camcorder, does everything shure says it does. Small and powerful.

It had rattle/clunk noise when I tilt the camera down or up. It was ok panning side to side. When I shook it gently off the camera, I could hear something is loose inside. I returned it and got the Rode. I'm surprised no one is talking about this issue.

I just recently go this mic and started doing light testing for it...so far it pick up sound wonderfully, from all around so it'll be great for ambient sounds. It seemingly will also do well in a controlled sound environment as well.

The build quality is great, it feels so solid compared to the plastic of the Rode. The sound quality is also up to par! With the proper audio levels on your camera, there?s little static, and with an audio recorder, it?s even better! Highly recommend this as a first microphone before stepping up to XLR
