Bought the drive 08/2015, and just failed first day of 02/2016... every other WD drive lasted years... Was used in a home-built firewall as a simple boot device. This is the last time I get cheap and purchase a "refurbished" hard drive

Won't work as a 2nd drive in my HP DV9000. However, it is great as a primary drive. I'm a fan of 7200 RPM drives and I always try to buy the fastest drive for my computers.

If you laptop has a SSD, and a DVD/CD replace it with a tray adapter and drop in one of these.

Replaced a broken HD with this cheap one. It's installed on a laptop running security cam software 24/7 without problem.
