I've had my usb drive for a few years it works great. It has even survived a few trips in the washing machine and tumble dryer without losing access to my data.

Great USB with write protection. this should be a standard on all USBs. Some one said that one star less was given because a file could be deleted with the write protection (W/P) on. I tried this and can say that no files will be deleted with the W/P switch on - in fact, when you right-click a file in the USB, the option to 'Delete' does not even appear in the selection. Hitting the keyboard 'Delete' would not delete it either. Somewhat expensive but 100% worth it in my case. An excellent piece of hardware - congratulations Kanguru

I have had this for a few years, but it has not been heavily used. It recently stopped working. When it did work, the speed was good. Now when I plug it in, the drive shows up as a "2301 Boot ROM" device which seems to indicate that the controller cannot communicate with the flash memory. I like the form factor but it could be shorter. The best feature is the hardware write-protect switch. That and prior experience with Kanguru products led me to choose this. Unfortunately the durability might not be great. I mostly kept this clipped in an inside pocket in my backpack and it is possible it got jostled around too much but I have other thumb drives that have survived longer.

I ordered two of these. Opened the first one, removed the protective film from the cap, checked the operation of the protection switch, and plugged it into the computer. Everything functioned normally. Opened the second one. No protective film on the end cap, switch flopped back and forth, plugged it in and noticed the properties were different than the first one. This one had been used and formatted and therefore the properties had changed. The box was sealed when I got it so I started looking and noticee the end of the box had been torn out and taped internally so it gave the appearance of having never been opened. Another sorry Amazon user somewhere trying to get over on Amazon but only affecting others. Some people have no ethics or morals. Returning the used one for replacement.

I work in computer repair and needed a write protected USB to carry my tools in that could be protected from being inserted in an infected machine. This thing is fast and being testing in crystal disk mark was verrry close to a SSD in read speeds. In my use case this is very worth it.
