This card has really good sound. I have not tried to use the Sonar part of the software. I did have some issues with using a microphone with discord, but after I moved it to a different slot it was fine. So make sure you do not have an IRQ conflict when you choose a slot. The software is easy to understand and use. The mic boost works well. Overall I am very happy with it.

Had just returned a sound blaster card and chose this one. Not a gamer or hard core pc guy, just wanted a good card for music and occasional games. No problems installing in Windows 10, just used drivers from Asus site. Had many sound blasters and decided to try this good looking Asus card! Happy I did. Not bad for $70, after rebate. Great card Asus!

When it works it sounds great, however due to latency issues i get constant cracking, popping and sound cutting out.

I returned mine as I was very disappointed with the general sound quality and steeped up to its big brother STX II. My old Asus Xonar U7, delivered better sound quality that this "new and improved" sound card. Bass was out of control, eating mid frequencies and flatting the overall listening experience. I never got Sonic Radar to work properly (most likely, I was doing something wrong) and the headphone amp was by far, worst than the one on the Xonar U7. To be fair with Asus, I did not use this sound card on the way that it was designed for-->Gaming, but more to listen at music and some occasionaly game. Cheers

if you like hearing clicking noise that is worse than the onboard than this is your card, plus audio sounds very unrealistic or correct iv had to sound blaster zx for almost 4 years till it died, it was clean no clicking and it sounded much more better i accually prefer the onboard to this asus, but after some changing the profile to flat and removing all the so called enhancements and leaving only the compressor clicking is reduced a lot, ill update my review as i continue to use it but for now i am not a fan and no surround sound from SPDIF out which is alone enough reason to give it one star but it has decent audio slightly better than onboard and ok software which earns it a second star
