Might & Magic IX - Windows

Get this game and spend a few hours at night playing it. Pretend you're not expecting a typical HOMM game. Come back 600 hours later and tell me how much you love it. It's a perfect game. Even its flaws are fun flaws. Love this game so much I'm playing it in 2026.

Love the tech tree and unit lits, and soooo many single player levels

I come back to HOMM4 every once in a while and it doesn't feel like it aged. Great RPG elements, combat dynamics and map exploration. But what really sets it apart is the atmoshpere - a medieval feel where the artstyle combined with imersive music take me to the dramatic battles and adventures.

While not as amazing as HoMM 3, HoMM 4 has an amazing music, hero and campaign storybuilding, and dynamic gameplay.

I love this game. I can't really explain why. I like it even more than Heroes 3, which everyone holds as the "gold standard". Heroes 3 is good, don't misunderstand me. But for me, Heroes 2 and Heroes 4 rank higher. 2 for it's charm, and 4 for it's storytelling, new ideas and fresh take on the series. Also, the heroes are actually fighting. That was revolutionary when it released.
